Gates in residential projects are often treated as purely utilitarian, focused only on access control and security. They tend to appear heavy, closed and detached from the identity of the building. This leads to a lost opportunity to create a stronger first impression or embed cultural meaning into the design.
By designing the entrance gate in Lalace, function and storytelling merge into one. The mesh introduces rhythm, ornament and transparency, while still providing strength and protection. The reference to Filips Willem van Oranje ensures that the design not only serves its purpose but also connects the project to its historical and cultural context.
Lalace is a woven mesh system suitable for facades, ceilings, walls, gates and railings. It can be customized in pattern, scale and curvature to match architectural intent. In this project it was used to form a decorative entrance gate, created together with the architect, that honors Filips Willem van Oranje and blends performance with heritage.
