Artist Christie Beniston designed a perimeter fence for the Foothill Gold Line Operations Campus, inspired by the California Poppy. The “Poppy Orange” theme runs through the facility’s structures and landscape, while the architectural lace fence adds both security and an artistic element. From the public plaza, visitors can sit, enjoy the design, and watch the campus operations.

Perimeter fences around infrastructure sites are usually plain and strictly functional. They are built to keep people out but do not add value to the location. This often results in a hard and anonymous edge within the landscape.
By using Lalace the enclosure becomes more than a fence. The mesh introduces rhythm, transparency and identity, making the boundary part of the overall design. Security remains intact but the fence also strengthens the visual character of the campus.
