A high security area of a bank is decorated with a lace wallpaper pattern. A play visual between an actual wall and the reference to home. The barrier projects a feeling of welcome but also safety.

Security barriers often feel austere, impersonal, and unyielding. In a bank context especially, they can reinforce a cold, fortress-like atmosphere. When safety dominates design, the human dimension frequently gets lost, leaving spaces that feel alien to visitors and staff alike.
By wrapping the barrier in a patterned Lalace façade, we introduced softness and visual richness without compromising security. The lace motif bridges home and fortress imagery, making the barrier feel less hostile and more integrated into the interior. It conveys protection while also suggesting familiarity and warmth.
Lalace is a woven mesh system suited for façades, barriers, gates, ceilings, walls and decorative overlays. It can be customized in motif, density, scale and curvature to meet design and performance goals. In this project it was used as a decorative barrier wall, combining the transparency and texture of lace with the structural demands of high security.
