Problem

Conventional bike shelters often prioritize function over form. They tend to be purely utilitarian, visually uninspiring, and fail to contribute to the surrounding architecture or public identity. As a result, large-scale bicycle parking can feel disconnected from the urban environment.

Solution

By applying Lalace, Redfort transformed a standard parking facility into an architectural statement. The material allowed the apple-shaped design to be wrapped in a durable yet decorative skin, turning the structure into both a secure shelter and a piece of public art that strengthens the visual character of the area.

Product

Lalace is a customizable façade cladding system made of woven steel mesh, available in unique patterns and shapes. In the JBC project, it forms the expressive outer shell of the bike shelter, combining structural integrity with ornamental design.
