For NL-architects we realized a fence around a pumping station on a sports park in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The photography of Muybridge was used to convert a static fence into a dynamic object, matching the sports theme. A perpetual motion machine of 100 running men.

Functional fences around utility installations tend to be purely utilitarian and visually unremarkable. They rarely add identity or narrative to their surroundings. In a sports setting especially, a blank fence fails to resonate with the dynamic character of the environment.
Using Dedots we turned the fence into an expressive artwork. The 3D dot system allows the imagery of running bodies to appear in motion, giving life and rhythm to the enclosure. The panels are engineered to maintain structural integrity while hosting the expressive pattern. The result is a fence that both secures and inspires.
Dedots is a modular dot-panel system where colored 3D “dots” are mounted on mesh panels in fully customizable configurations. Each square meter can carry a unique pattern, supporting high-resolution visuals. The system is suitable for enclosures, facades, railings, ceilings, walls and more. In this project it was used to realize a storytelling fence that merges utility and artistic identity.
