At the request of the architect of a sports park near Rotterdam we realised an enclosure that would reduce the force of wind on the field by 40%. The images tell the stories of both the sports played and the surrounding landscape.

Outdoor sports fields are often vulnerable to wind disturbances, which can affect gameplay and comfort. Standard fences or windbreaks tend to be visually bland and purely utilitarian. They fail to contribute to the park’s character or engage spectators and local residents.
By applying Dedots, the enclosure becomes more than just a wind barrier. The dot-based imagery allows the fence to tell stories tied to sport and landscape, giving visual interest while maintaining performance. The mesh structure filters wind, reducing its impact, while the custom graphics connect the community to the venue.
Dedots is a modular dot-panel mesh system in which colored 3D dots are affixed to wire mesh panels, enabling detailed visual motifs across large surfaces. It supports varying densities, custom colors and seamless mounting. In this project Dedots was used as a high-performance wind-reducing enclosure that also functions as a narrative architectural canvas.
