The outdoor parking openings are covered with Lalace, turning them into ponds with lotus flowers while ensuring safety. The diversity of homes reflects Amsterdam’s population. Together with FLUX Landscape, a sloping hill with greenery covers the parking garage. On the ground floor, a large communal and educational space connects directly to the park, fostering community between residents and the neighborhood.

Parking structures are often treated as purely functional, resulting in facades that feel heavy and unattractive. Openings are usually left bare or closed off with plain grids that add little architectural quality. This creates a missed opportunity to integrate the building into its environment and community.
By applying Lalace as a net, the openings gain both safety and expression. The lotus motif brings rhythm, lightness and cultural reference while still meeting technical demands. Together with the landscaped roof, the net helps the building merge with its surroundings and enhances the public experience.
Lalace is a woven steel net that can be produced in custom patterns, scales and shapes. It combines structural strength with transparency, making it ideal for facades, ceilings and large openings. In this case the net was used with a lotus design, turning simple parking gaps into distinctive architectural features.
