This is the first Lalace presented to the world on the Design Academy in Eindhoven in 2005 as a concept to enhance the quality of our environment with architectural fabrics.

Problem

Public spaces often lacked artistic yet practical elements to enrich their environment. In this case, the challenge was to introduce an eye-catching design feature that could beautify a public area without compromising function.

Solution

Redfort responded with the innovative Lalace architectural fabric, a metal lace-like screen that could serve as fencing, partition, or façade cladding. By using a woven metal pattern, it transformed utilitarian barriers into pieces of art. The solution enhanced aesthetic appeal and maintained openness, allowing light and airflow while delineating space.

Product

The result was the very first Lalace installation: a decorative architectural fabric panel. This metal lace screen not only provided the needed separation or enclosure but also acted as a creative landmark. Its intricate pattern set a precedent for future projects, showing how Redfort’s Lalace product could add character and quality to public environments.
