A huge carpet projected onto the ceiling invites you to the rooftop restaurant. The golden fabric also functions as a false ceiling behind which sprinklers, electrics, and ventilation systems are hidden. The transparency of the ceiling gives the illusion of a larger space. The pattern displays drops on a surface of water, it unifies the space, from the kitchen to the interior to the outside seating area.

Problem
The rooftop of this hotel had various functional elements (plumbing, HVAC, structural beams) that needed concealment to maintain a luxurious ambiance. The designers wanted a single design gesture to cover these without building a solid ceiling that would lower the sense of height or block the view of the sky. The challenge was to create a functional ceiling screen that is decorative, lightweight, and able to span large areas seamlessly.
Solution
Redfort’s solution was a custom Lalace ceiling installation: a series of gold-finished perforated metal panels forming one continuous expanse. The pattern chosen resembles water ripples or an ornate carpet, lending a feeling of opulence. These panels are mounted slightly below the actual ceiling slab, so all the pipes and ducts sit hidden above them. The blind-fixing method we used means no unsightly bolts are visible; the panels appear to float. The translucence of the lace lets through glimmers of the sky and evening lights, keeping the rooftop feeling airy and open.
Product
The product is a tailor-made metal lace ceiling system, powder-coated in a rich golden hue for weather protection and visual impact. It covers the restaurant’s interior sections and extends to the canopy over the terrace, tying both areas together. Sprinklers and lights are integrated above the panels, shining through the mesh inconspicuously. Guests arriving by elevator are greeted by this golden lace artwork above, which effectively merges form and function – hiding infrastructure while adding thematic decor. Redfort’s ceiling panels thus created a signature atmosphere for the rooftop venue, impressing guests with both style and clever design.
